Having replaced an HVAC system at another house years ago and having worked through an entire installation, including duct-work, in new construction recently — along with countless service calls along the way — we’ve had a lot of interaction with numerous heating and air businesses.

The most recent was AIRMAX replacing a 15-year-old HVAC system in December 2015. The best way to assess AIRMAX is that I wish they’d been around for all that previous work.

From the initial contact with owner Medd Box — to assessing the viability of our deteriorating system with technician Keith — to thinking through different combinations of the new split-system with Clayton Bezdek — to the installation of the new system with technicians Andrew and Chuck — to getting the filled-out SCE&G rebate form from April in the office — the employees have been professional and as flexible as possible working with my schedule.

While there a lot of pieces to the puzzle to fit together in something like this (including my replacing some water-damaged sub-flooring under the previous air-handler), some things can get overlooked. But when Clayton noticed a missing hanging strap on a main air-duct on a follow-up visit and when I decided to upgrade the thermostat, they continued to be responsive and reasonable.

AIRMAX did a great job in planning and installing our new 3-zone Lennox HVAC system to replace the 10 year old Carrier equipment. Professional, responsive, knowledgeable, and honest are some of the words which describe our experience. Be happy to be a reference so other customers can have similar experiences.

What a pleasure it was to work with the servicemen at AIRMAX. Being a single woman, I am always concerned about letting “strangers” into my home. Within minutes of meeting the technician, I felt comfortable with him; he was professional, knowledgeable and courteous. AIRMAX’s phone number is now programmed into my phone so I can easily call them the next time I have an issue with my HVAC unit.

I have had the great pleasure to have Medd Box care for my 10,000 s.f. home on Kiawah Island for 8 years. In that time he installed a complete foam package to insulate the home from mold risk and serviced the HVAC system in the home continuously. I have the highest regard and respect for the quality of this man’s work as well as his team’s. In Medd’s case, my home had zero issues with excess humidity, and given the extreme heat Kiawah experiences about 100 days a year, that provides great peace of mind for the client – and that, as the commercial says, is “priceless”
